Risk Perception and Actual Hazards reveals the discrepancy between the scenarios that we fear and those that are seriously harmful to us. The chart is based on the risk formula by risk researcher Dr. Peter M. Sandman.

Risk II

Comparison of fatalities in the year 2000, caused by a heatwave and terrorist activities worldwide. Based on statistics published by Reuters and the US state department.

Risk III

Public dread and actual deaths caused by most common sources of energy. Based on a longterm study by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
